WebJun 17, 2010 · If this is a multi-line corded phone it will say check tel. line if the battery is low. Unplug the main base power cord from the wall outlet. Remove the battery from the handset. Remove, inspect (gold-plated contacts/wires should be shiny) and re-connect the telephone cord from the wall jack.
